The LG E300 notebook with HSDPA was released in South Africa last week Thursday, 31st of July. The LG E300 had been available from last year, but the company included HSDPA connectivity up to 7.2mbps in this version of the notebook. The only reason we are covering it at PhoneReport is that the notebook contains a connectivity feature that is usually implemented on mobile phones.
The E300 can be customized with a Celeron® 540, 1MB L2 Cache, 1.86GHz, 533MHz FSB or a Core™2 Duo T7300, 4MB L2 Cache, 2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB. It runs on the ATI RS600ME Chipset which supports up to 4GB RAM DDR2 667MHz. There is a 13.3" display with WXGA (1280x800) resolution and Fine Bright Technology. Besides the HSDPA connectivity, the device features 802.11b/g Wireless LAN supported by a Dual Hexa-band Antenna. It also features 10/100MB Ethernet LAN, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR. A 1.3 megapixel LG Smart Cam is built-in the notebook, and the graphics are powered by a ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics card with an HDMI output port. To compliment the bundle, there is a also a DVD Super Multi Dual Layer drive and a 250GB SATA hard drive with 5400rpm and HDD Security.
Press release after the break.
LG Electronics South Africa, a leader in consumer electronics and IT products, has announced the availability of the stylish and compact LG E300 notebook computer which offers high-speed mobile communications with its built-in high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) capability.
The ultra-portable LG E300 is the perfect balance between power and portability weighing a mere 2.0kg, less than most of its similarly sized competitors and is no larger than an A4 notebook. Concealed in the diminutive frame the LG E300 is an extremely powerful Intel Core2 Duo 2.0Ghz T7300 processor with 4MB L2 cache and 800MHz FSB, 320GB hard disc drive and 4GB or RAM.
Mobility was an integral design consideration for the LG E300 which features a dual Hexa-band wireless LAN antenna (WLAN) for 802.11 b/g/n WLAN connectivity, built-in high speed wireless broadband access with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA capability. The built-in Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity allows for the quick and simple connection of a fast wireless personal area network.
Although small in size the LG E300 does not fall short in features. Bright, clear and crisp images are taken care of on the LG Fine Bright display with the ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics card. The built-in HDMI output port allows for high definition content stored on the LG E300 to be output to a compatible high definition TV or display for a truly brilliant and clear viewing experience.
Further multimedia features are taken care of in the LG E300 with the built-in 1.3 megapixel LG Smart Cam ideally complimenting the wireless broadband capabilities by allowing for web or video conference calls. The DVD Super Multi Dual Layer drive is able to read and write to virtually any media, 5-in-1 card reader makes multiple memory card formats from cameras and MP3 players less of a concern while high-output stereo sound rounds off the package.
The 13.3-inch LG E300 compliments the powerful functionality with stylish and chic design to suit a number of tastes and is available in glossy pink, glossy carbon fibre-look black or glossy lime finishes.
