Motorola W205: Motorola has been providing cell phones to low end users who are intended to use mobiles just for making and receiving calls and text messages. Most of the cell phones in market nowadays are providing hell lot of features but the basic purpose of the cell phone, no matter how much mega pixel camera it contains and which software it operates on, its primary functions are to send/receive text messages and make phone calls.
As we said, Motorola is still manufacturing cell phone for the basic users. W205 is just one of them. The cell phone is available in true black color which makes it look like an expensive high end mobile device. The cell phone is perfectly slim with thickness of only 14.9mm. W205 is also very light to hold. Only 78 grams of communication device is just a feather to put into any pocket.
The cell phone is dual band and works on 900 and 1800 MHz. The GSM is available world wide so carrier availability for W205 is not an issue at all. The brilliant CSTN display screen shows 65000 colors at resolution of 128x128. Although the device is not that expensive but screen quality hasn't been compromised by Motorola at all.
This small device has memory storage of about 1 MB which is enough to store around 500 phone book contacts and 700 text messages. The other basic features such as search Phone book and predictive text are also included. The firmware of W205 also contains basic applications like Java games, calculator, currency converter and alarm clock.
Motorola W205 rooms a 850mAh battery. When charged to the full, it runs the budget cell phone up to 8 hours while talking and 300 hours on stand by. The W205 by Motorola attracted vast number of customers since its official release. The mobile lacks what multimedia freaks want a cell phone to be; rather it concentrates on what a cell phone is meant for. For a price hovering around $80, the cell phone is affordable.
