Peter Chou, CEO, HTCBARCELONA, Spain - HTC CEO Peter Chou has disclosed to PhoneReport that the upcoming Google Android-based HTC mobile phone is launching tomorrow at the Mobile World Congress.

At a packed press conference, where the company unveiled two mobile phones, journalists questioned themselves why there was no new Android-based device released. The Chief Executive Officer revealed that the phone will launch in "the next few days", and later told PhoneReport that it will actually unveil tomorrow.

There is an uncertainty of the number of devices based on Android that are being revealed tomorrow. Chou told PhoneReport that "it will come on Tuesday", which indicated that it could possibly be one only.

The most likely phone to be launched is the sequel to the T-Mobile G1, or HTC Dream, dubbed T-Mobile G2. Japanese network operator NTT DoCoMo, Vodafone, and T-Mobile are expected to retail the phone.

The Google Android operating system has caused much curiosity to network operators and manufacturers, according to an industry insider, and many of these companies wish to introduce Android-based devices to their markets. Such devices are not only mobile phones, but in the future, netbooks will run on the platform.
