Or so I think. Yesterday I was speaking to James Whatley from SMS Text News and I discussed the possibility of having the 5800 releasing at the Smartphones Show. Nokia demonstrated S60 Touch UI for the first time at last year's Smartphones Show, and I truly believe that there is a chance that the first device will officially be showcased at this same event. One of the Nokia representatives at the Eseries launch declined to comment, but I have a feeling from his reactions that the device might show up at the event.
Today I received an invite to attend the show, it will be held on the 21-22 October, and the event seems quite interesting. If my exams weren't after those dates I would probably try to attend it. I am off from the 16th until the 22nd, but that's study time. If you're interested in going on behalf on PhoneReport, please contact us, and we'll get you a press pass.
Seems that the event will be “the biggest and best yet”. The organizers expect 4000 visitors, 60 seminars per day, and 120 exhibitors of which Symbian, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Trolltech. Mobile DevFest will also be incorporated as part of the show, it's “Symbian’s premier developer event and will offer dedicated content and feature three streams of technical seminars and two instructor-led hands-on training labs”.
