l870 Nokia unveils new Samsung L870 - wait, WTH?

The only reason we know that Samsung didn't hack Nokia's Press webpage is because Nokia themselves reported on this phone as it's the new addition to the S60 family. The two-day S60 Summit started today, and besides the L870, the new S60 Ambassadors website was also launched officially. L870 specifications after the jump.

The Samsung L870 runs on Symbian OS9.3, with S60 v3.2 Feature Pack 2, the latest edition of the platform. Hopefully all the smooth transitions from the N78 must be there. Perhaps what's most surprising about the L870 is that it contains Safari web browser, and yes, the one from the Apple iPhone. Safari is known to surpass S60 web browser's power, which is regarded as a very advanced and computer-like one.

And now time for the features:

  • 3 megapixel camera (where's the autofocus?)
  • 2.4" QVGA display
  • 100MB internal memory
  • microSD memory card slot
  • Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP
  • Triband GSM
  • HSDPA 3.6mbps
  • Launches in August in Europe
