Yet another phone has been leaked from Taiwanese PC vendor Acer, which has been preparing for an announcement on day 1 of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Acer had purchased handset manufacturer E-Ten in March 2008 for US$291m. Earlier this week, the first Acer phone was leaked on the web, revealing to be a simple E-Ten, rebranded by Acer. The second device is a new phone, but it is yet to be confirmed.
The device showcased by the Boy Genius Report has a large touchscreen, and a full keyboard in the bottom. The form factor is not usual, as the keyboard seems to pivot from the main body.
Features were not leaked, but it is likely for the phone to run on a smartphone operating system, contain GPS, 3G, and a 3 megapixel.
The first device, an Acer DX900, is a rebranded E-Ten Glofiish that runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and supports two SIM cards. It also contains Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSDPA, GPS, a 3 megapixel camera, and a 2.8" touchscreen display with VGA resolution. No announcement was given regarding this handset.
