The HTC Touch Diamond is due from Sprint and reviewers are already talking about it, commenting on the Windows Operating System calling it “out of date,’ making and it a beast while others find it a beauty.

The TouchFLO 3D interface along the bottom of the screen allows for one-handed touching of the screen to move through menus. The HTC Touch Diamond is packed with lots of features. It was called “beautiful and fun to learn” and a “slab of sculpted elegance.”

Katherine Boehret at the Wall Street Journal wrote that the HTC Touch Diamond’s screen is smaller than the iPhone and lacks multitouch, and found using the screen keyboard with a stylus “next to impossible.” It ” failed to disguise the frustrating interface of Windows Mobile.” She found the video footage to be adequate. The web browser from Opera is not full HTML and renders to fit the screen but is mainly text. The accelrometer for flipping views worked in most applications except for the web browsing. “HTC’s Touch Diamond doesn’t hide the outdated operating system well enough or often enough for a user to want to buy a whole new mobile device.”

Sascha Segan warns abut the WSJ review “It’s tough to tell the real truth considering that the WSJ has never met a Windows Mobile device it likes. ”

Bonnie Cha at Crave notes that “highlights of the HTC Touch Diamond is the TouchFLO 3D interface, which provides a toolbar along the bottom of the screen where you can move left to right with the swipe of your finger to launch applications” She will be reviewing it shortly.

John Chan at CNET Asia in a video shows fast one handed navigation of the HTC Touch Diamond, and clear big icons. He liked the sharp display 4 GB storage, broswse TouchFLo 3D interface and design. It was a bit sluggish at times. He rated it 8.2 out of 10.
