Storage

The G1 has 128 MB of memory and comes with a 1GB microSD memory card. The memory card slot was thoughtfully designed on the outside on the phone, on the lower left side, so users to not have to remove the back of the phone, as they must do with many other devices.

Connectivity

Connectivity is limited on the G1, which is likely to disappoint some users. It supports just two Bluetooth 2.0 profiles: headset and handsfree. With the mini-USB port on the bottom of the phone, it can also be connected to a PC.

Conclusion

There is no denying the G1 is an exciting device and provides users with many of the same benefits as the Apple iPhone 3G -- a brilliant, capacitive touch screen and an ever expanding market of applications from which to choose.

The G1 is certainly accessible for most mobile phone users, but users who want a more tested OS and applications might want to stick with the iPhone 3G for now, while Google and Android application developers fine-tune their software.

Hopefully, HTC will also be able to improve the quality of the camera on the G1, which is currently disappointing and falls short of the iPhone 3G camera.

The G1 has great potential and the future applications that could be developed for the phone make it an exciting device to watch and one which hopefully will improve greatly in the near future.
